Dr. Katey Soenksen is a Physical Therapist at Ascent Total Performance in Columbia, SC.
Dr. Soenksen earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2017 from South College in Knoxville, TN. She continued her post graduate training by completing the Orthopedic Residency through Evidence in Motion to become a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist in 2018 while living in Austin, TX. Since then, she has continued to develop her clinical skills by completing numerous continuing education and certification programs including dry needling, blood flow restriction, Graston training, therapeutic neuroscience education, and the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Dr. Soenksen has also served as a clinical instructor to Doctor of Physical Therapy students and a mentor to newly graduated physical therapists and residents.
Due to her residency training, Dr. Soenksen specializes in the treatment of all orthopedic conditions. Her areas of special interest include the treatment of TMJ disorders and persistent or chronic pain. She focuses on using a teamwork approach to come alongside her patients and assist them in meeting their goals and empowering them to live their best lives.
In her free time Dr. Soenksen enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and family dog. She loves to cook (and eat), spend time outdoors, and watch reality television.
